The C303 series | DC-Contactors for higher energy efficiency
Schaltbau presents the latest version of the Eddicy C303 DC contactor, which can now handle continuous currents up to 500 A.
The contactors are designed to offer lower total cost of ownership (TCO) with energy cost savings of up to 25% through improved efficiency and longevity. Features such as ultra-low contact resistance minimize power loss and heat generation, while robust design elements extend service life and reduce the frequency of replacement and associated downtime.
The C303 bidirectional DC contactors are compact high-performance switching devices with high inrush and short-time currents up to 5,000 amperes or large capacities for applications such as battery storage, charging stations or test benches.
The switching devices are available with 3 coil controls:
Ecosave: With energy-saving PWM module for optimum power consumption when switching and low heating when holding
High Efficiency Drive (HED): Without economy circuit for maximum drive efficiency
Pre-charging contactor: For limiting high inrush currents and protecting main contactors
The new C303 meets stringent global safety and performance standards with its UL certification as well as CE and UKCA certification.
C330 – DC bi-directional switching
C330 is the first ever compact high-performance contactor to cover MCS Level 2 (1,500) and MCS Level 3 (3,000 A). The series features a compact, open-isolation concept which prevents rupture even under the heaviest failure conditions and heavy short-circuit currents, preventing damage to surrounding components. The C330 contactor can withstand a short-time current of 15,000A for five milliseconds without the contacts welding, significantly enhancing system safety. With separate contact systems for switching and current carrying, the series stands out for its exceptional longevity.

HV – High power connectors for DC applications
Schaltbau’s HV series connectors feature solid power and signal contacts and are suitable for a wide range of high-current applications.
The connectors have a robust, modular design and protect against accidental contact. They are IP69K certified and designed for a high number of mating cycles. Perfect for high power rating, HV connectors are well suited for energy transmission between rail cars or the connection of track and trailer on heavy e-vehicles. Another application is the connection of powerful battery packs where connectors can be used as a high-performance charging connectors.
Wide power range
Rated voltages up to 1,800 volts and rated currents up to 470 amps. Main contacts in the plug and socket housing safely protected against accidental contact.
Easy operation
One-handed operation – thanks to the sliding mechanism on the handle of the socket housing. This saves effort and ensures safe locking and unlocking of the plug in the socket.
Modularity
Solid power contacts for different connection cross-sections up to 95 mm2 and 4 universally applicable signal contacts are available. Also configured with cable or individual conductors in a robust corrugated pipe.
LV - Advanced Charging Connectors for High-Performance Energy Systems
Modern charging connectors with a new optimised main contact system: The solid power contacts can carry high currents with minimal self-heating, have extremely low contact resistance and noticeably reduced contact forces for a significantly longer service life.
Schaltbau devices and charging connectors meet the requirements of EN 1175 and DIN VDE 0623-589 for high current carrying capacity. They enable active energy and battery management that optimises the current flow and increase lifespan of the batteries.
Thanks to their modularity, Schaltbau charging connectors can be individually configured. Additional pilot contacts are available for battery management. In addition to pilot contacts, adapters are also available to allow air to pass through during the charging process or to fill the battery with demineralised water.
